Born in Montreal, Sylvie Dagenais was always deeply interested in painting and art in all aspects. After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) University, she took over the family business and was for 20 years the president of the Dagenais group of companies, which owned and operated five automobile dealerships. Sylvie has created an art studio first in Rosemere, Quebec, moved recently to Old Montreal, Quebec, where she has created both her commissioned art paintings and other works of art. Sylvie’s work is sold at Galerie Le Luxart on St-Paul street in Old Montreal, under the name “Solo”. Sylvie also participates, with two other artists, in the collective Triad, who donate all of the profits from their work to three charitable organizations. In 2009, while taking numerous painting courses at the Art School of the Boca Raton Museum of Art, Sylvie discovered and perfected the monotype technique (printmaking that creates a single and unique work of art) and and won the “Prize of the jury” of that School for one of her monotypes. Sylvie then opened an art studio in Boca Raton, Florida, where she now also creates new paintings. She is currently completing a Master in Fine Arts degree online at the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco.
